Welcome to our Year 6 blog page. Here you will be able to find out what both classes, Bells and Whistles, have been getting up to during the week. We will put photos and information about what we have been working on in class and any events and trips. Keep an eye out for class celebrations and house point achievements!
This week in Year 6 we have been looking at classifying animals. We have looked at Linneaus’ classification system and classification keys to group animals and plants with similar characteristics. We have predicted what living things we might find in North Wales and we will be creating our own classification keys from our research next week. We are really enjoying our Science lessons and have a really keen interest after visiting Lledr hall ourselves a couple of weeks ago.
In English, we have been creating landscape poetry about North Wales. We have been thinking carefully about the vocabulary we use so we can create an image in our reader’s mind. The performances of these poems really captured the beauty of North Wales and we were very impressed with everyone’s effort when using intonation and tone when reading aloud.
Well done for a brilliant week Year 6!
