Wow!!! What a day!!

Year 4 had a truly fantastic day at the Air Raid Shelters.  Everyone learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

The video below shows some great pictures from the day and we have more to follow!!!!

Year 4 History Trip to Stockport Airraid Shelters – January 2015

I am delighted to announce that Ellenbrook is the winner of the Walk to School week competition that was run last half term. Lots of schools took part from all over the city but in true Ellenbrook style we managed to fight off the competition with a winning score of 3.80. This means that most children walked to school on 4 out of 5 days.

As a reward for the children’s efforts, our school will receive a scooterpod to store pupils’ scooters, helping to encourage a sustainable and fun way to travel to school.

The winning class, with an average walking rate of 4.40, was Year 5. Well done to everyone in this class; you will all receive a high visibility zip pull that you put on your coat or bag to help keep you visible in the dark!

Well done Ellenbrook – keep walking!
Miss Watson

Walk to School Week 2014.

13th – 17th October will be Walk to School Week at Ellenbrook. We would like as many pupils as possible to walk to school during this week. Walking is great exercise, healthy, free and helps reduce pollution, traffic and congestion around school.

On Friday 10th October, each pupil will be issued with a coloured band on their bookbag/schoolbag which will be ‘hole punched’ each morning if they have walked to school. At the end of the week the teachers will collect up all the bands and count up how many pupils have walked. The campaign has been organised by Salford’s Road Safety team and there will be prizes for all members of the class who have walked the most! Our school’s results will also be counted in the Salford wide competition against other schools and the school with the best walking rate will win a ‘scooterpod’, a colourful and fun way to store scooters.

If you don’t usually walk to school, please make an effort to participate in walk to school week. Even if you manage just one day in the week it will make a difference to the traffic around school.

Happy walking everyone!

  1. I loved every moment of the air raid shelter trip. The funny part of the trip was when we got to the shelter and we found out it was closed so we had to go to the museum.

  2. I really liked doing the art with Paul for our mini bugs because it was really fun and I think in year 5 we should still have Paul for art
