Year 2 – Bring Yer Wellies

What a fantastic trip we have had today at Bring Yer Wellies! As usual Jets were on their best behaviour and blew Melissa and Nigel away with their fantastic knowledge of habitats. It was great exploring the different habitats and explaining why it was the ideal habitat for different animals.

The afternoon was great fun racing our boats and den building. Have a look at our day…...

Well done Jets as usual Mrs Baird and Miss Curwen were super proud of you xx

Year 2 Jets – author visit

On Friday we had a lovely visit from a real life author! This year we had the privilege of reading Lizzie and the Birds by Dawn and Mick Robertson, before it was even published! We produced some fantastic work that we sent to Dawn, she was so impressed she wanted to meet us. Now the book has been published she returned to school to give us a signed copy! We got to ask her lots of question and she asked us lots too.

Dawn has inspired us to write a sequel for her….

Day 3 in Jets

Another busy day colour mixing for our butterflies that are going to be part of our whole school display. He tried to see who could make the most shades of green, then used our shades to decorate our individual butterflies. Next we thought about different patterns and techniques to create patterns. We are sure they are going to look great displayed.

Arts week in year 2 Jets

What a busy 2 days we have had in Jets. Yesterday we had fun exploring and experimenting with brusho and pastels to create interesting backgrounds. We loved the new colours we made by mixing. We then went outside looking at the trees before we drew our own trees using ink onto the brusho backgrounds. Finally we turned them into cherry blossom trees by mixing shades of pink and using cotton buds.

Today we have been working with Isobel, we have made our own felt! It was so much fun and so easy! Again we have loved the colours we have made by mixing.

Wait until you see what we are going to use our felt for……..

Goodbye Dobroyd!

Our last day at Dobroyd, action packed right up to the end! Dungeon, quest, night line, giant swing and crate challenge all completed before lunch.

After saying our final ‘Well dones’ and ‘Thank yous’ we enjoyed our walk back to the coach park along the canal – tired, happy and very proud of ourselves.

Well done Year 4 you were awesome and as usual, you did us proud.
